The committee has selected a number of subjects for 2009, most of which will not need to be expanded upon, however, if any member has a problem or query they are invited to discuss it with any member of the committee.
If members bring to mind the basic rules that all judges continually refer to, when taking their photos and when assessing their work for entry selection they should be successful.
The Basic rules are SIMPLICITY,  IMPACT,  CRITICAL FOCUSING and COMPOSITION (The old “Rule of Thirds” is very pertinent).  Filling the frame with the subject and looking at your backgrounds whilst taking the photo should also ensure successful images.
During the year definitions for some of the chosen subjects will be printed in the newsletter.
 
PRINTS - Each print is:
a.     To have the Title, Competition Subject, Member’s grade and name on the reverse side.
 
b.    To have an arrow on the reverse side, indicating the top edge of the print.
PROJECTED IMAGES – Each image is:
a. .   To be 1024 pixels Maximum on the horizontal & 768 pixels Maximum on the vertical. (Can be less, but not more)
b.     Grade initial – Subject initial – O – Open  / S – Set - Title - Owners initials
